Farewell To All My Bloggers

While doing this project for two semesters now I was lucky enough to have the same professor for two different classes but in consecutive semesters. This project is a very good way for teachers to get students passionate about writing. The reason being is you allow the student to experiment with the backgrounds or how you want your specific blog to look. This makes it one of a kind. Differentiating between backgrounds of all types of people really broadens how we view our peers. After looking over others blogs it is slightly humorous to see what other people are passionate about. You can tell by what other classmates comment if they are intrigued by what interests you. This project should continue on. I recommend this to educate people who like to share work or vent about whatever is on their mind. I will continue on with my blog. As I hope my classmates do. As well as previous peers who did this project. Norris is a stud...not Chuck. He knows who I'm talking about,

LBJ & Company Takes On The Knicks In Prime Time Tonight

As the Cavaliers look for a victory tonight in a much anticipated double header on ESPN, Kyrie Irving need to contribute the way he has been doing this season. Leading the team in scoring with 24.4 points per game and adding close to five assists per game. LeBron is averaging 23.9 ppg, a stunning 9 assists per game, and almost eight rebounds as well. The Cav's need to come out strong and stick it to them on the defensive end where they have been weak of late. Also they need to create turnovers for easy transition buckets that could lead to three point plays. Irving is shooting lights out behind the three point line even though Kevin love is shooting a better 43 percent from the arch while leading the team in rebounds per game. I have seen much improvement in Love's play becoming more vocal. Calling for the ball and having teammates trust in him will boost his confidence even more. He starting to look like the K-Love acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves three years back.

Will Phil Jackson Regret Comment Made Towards LBJ...!

New York Knicks president Phil Jackson says he made a mistake when referring to another team's play AKA "Bron Bron"; occurring last month the comment included the word "posse" talking about the Cavaliers star players business associates. In Jackson's defense he claimed, "The obvious thing is, the word itself carries connotation. And I just don't understand that...that part of the word," Jackson added. "So I GUESS word choice could be something I COULD regret. But talking about other teams' players is outside the box." James and his business partner Maverick Carter roasted Jackson last month for what they believed was an intentional wack at the Cavaliers by the 11 time championship coach. I mean he coached Michael Jordan (GOAT). He even coached KOBE Bryant and Shaq. To me this looks like an act of jealous that he can't get in on LBJ's talents and win ships with him. Also why would Jackson say I guess and could, this dude meant the things that he said. That's a shame I had mad respect for that coach.

J.R. Smith's Knee Injury Is Not As Serious As Predicted

On Tuesday J.R. Smith's left knee showed no damage structurally during his MRI. The Cavaliers guard is day to day with what was diagnosed as a knee contusion after missing Wednesday night's game against the New York Knicks. Smith was battling tenderness in the knee for a few weeks now. The team is considering giving him time off to rest the sore knee. He returned home to Cleveland to his knee further examined, instead of making the trip to New York. He had surgery on his knee in 2013, when he was playing for the Knicks. J.R. is 31 years old, recently signing a four year, $57 million deal in October to stay with his boys and the defending NBA champions. Although he has struggled this season averaging 7.8 points per game and shooting a career low 31 percent. It is still to early to tell if this was a bust, but hopefully the season is still young and he will begin to shine like we are all accustomed to seeing.

Cavs End Three Game Skid Against The Raptors, Losing J.R. Smith To Knee Injury

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost J.R. Smith to a left knee injury early in the game, though LeBron James would not allow his team to let up on the Toronto Raptors one bit. Smith injured his knee early in the first quarter after landing on a jump shot and hobbled to the locker room in considerable pain. The X-rays taken came back negative. He will be further evaluated in the next few days. Kevin Love had 28 points and 14 rebounds. Leading the team with his thirteenth double double and his third in a row against the Raptors. James scored a season high 34 points as the Cavs finally ended a three game losing streak with a 116-112 victory. It was also their third straight victory over the Raptors this season. Remember, this is the same Raptors team that the Cavs beat on the way to the championship in last year's Eastern Conference Finals.

Chicago Bulls=D-Wade,
Cleveland Cavaliers=Bron Bron, K-Love, & Uncle Drew
Last Friday, LeBron played against former teammate and best friend, Dwayne Wade for the first time since Wade left the Miami Heat to join the Bulls. James finished the game with 27 points, 13 assists, but he also had a season high eight turnovers. It was Chicago's 78 points in the paint that really stood out. This came after Cleveland was outscored 68-34 in the paint during the Milwaukee Bucks and 30-18 against the los Angeles Clippers. It's the first three game losing streak during the time under head coach Tyronn Lue after being named head coach midway through last season. The good news was Lue took responsibility to "come up with better defensive schemes." Although the players need to play better one on one defense.

The Friendship That The NBA Cannot Change

You cannot say that one of the greatest friendships errupted when LeBron decided to leave Cleveland and take his talents to Miami. They choreographed a multi-segment handshake with Wade that featured LeBron James' signature stomp celebration and performed it at Dwayne Wade's wedding atop the alter right after they said vows, I do's, and the first kiss. Wade tells a story that one night after a playoff practice Wade yelled to LeBron he was going to be late to dinner and explains this: "My wife wouldn't know what to order," Wade says, but Bron's like, I got it." Two years ago, a dinner in New Orleans, Union (Wade's wife) could only watch, merely confused, as James picked sea bass for Dwyane who has a dislike for fish. "It's what I wanted." Wade later explains laughing, "Bron got me on sea Bass."

Dwayne Wade Laughs About LeBron's Cubs Gear: "He looks great"

Cubs fans had to wit 108 years to see their team win the World Series...amazing right. Well the fans also had to wait to see LeBron one of the most famous athletes pay a bet due to Dwyane Wade who was acquired this off season by the Chicago Cubs. But since the Cleveland Indians didn't win the World Series LeBron had to wear the Cubs uniform. LeBron James arrived to the Cleveland Cavaliers' game against the Chicago Bulls in a full Cubs uniform, as promised, to settle a wager with his former teammate Dwayne Wade. From the blue Cubs cap with a red "C" atop his head to the white pinstriped jersey and baseball pants and all the way down to blue stirrups on his feet, James fulfilled his obligation after the Cubs beat the Indians 8-7 in a Game 7 one month ago to the day.

Limiting James Minutes This Season

Tyronn Lue is worried about keeping his 14 year veteran refreshed this upcoming season. Lue talked about how the Cavaliers schedule has two 5 game in 7 day stretches which is key because he wants the players to remain healthy. Not driving his players into the ground is a strong point. LeBron James minutes were at a career low last season 35.6 minutes per game. Then jumping up to 39.1 minutes per game which is smart. Last year midway through the season Lue gave James two weeks off. Lue said that James came back looking noticeably refreshed. Although his ideas revolve around James this doesn't mean other players won't be seeing the same type of concept come start of the season. The Cavs' training staff uses biometrics to monitor the players health. Grading them by their body being in the green, yellow, or red zone. This is based on the minutes they play, activities, workouts, stress, and more. When a player enters the red zone Lue is advised to sit that player out.

Welcome Back

Hello Cav's fans! Welcome back to another year at my blog spot. I was lucky enough to have this same blog continue on in another class. I'm excited to post about your 2016 NBA Champions the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and the supporting cast brought home to Cleveland the first championship in any sport since 1964. The Cleveland Browns brought a ship home that year with the Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown. It has been a long time coming but it finally paid off in the best way. The Cavaliers are the first team in NBA history to ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in the series. The record for 3-1 deficits in the playoff finals in now 1-84. The Cav's have that one comeback. So to do it in spectacular fashion against the best record to ever be put up in the NBA by the Golden State Warriors is pretty phenomenal.

Stan Van Gundy Fined 25 Grand For Bashing Officials

Detroit Pistons head Coach was fined for publicly criticizing the officials. The comments occurred after the first round playoff loss 106-101 to the Cavaliers. "A couple of calls upset our guys," Van Gundy told Salter. They've got to understand, Lebron's LeBron. They're not going to call offensive fouls on him. He gets to do whatever he wants They've got to understand that." Van Gundy was talking about his players have to understand that LeBron will get away with fouls. Then later he said that the calls were not the reason the Pistons lost game one of the NBA Playoffs.

His rebounds have increased steadily. While, shooting better from the field by 4% than in the previous year.

LeBron James Eliminates Social Media as He Shifts into 'Playoff Mode'

LeBron James says he has switched into playoff mode with only three weeks left in the regular season. "I have," James said when asked about whether he has changed his position from previous years waiting a little longer in previous years. "A little bit sooner than normal, but you know I understand that the postseason is right around the corner and I want to start mentally preparing myself for the distance. So mentally I'm just being a little more sharper minded as of late, just gearing toward it. Understanding that it's right around the corner and it's going to be very, very challenging." James not only unfollowed the Cavs' accounts on Monday but the accounts of team broadcasters Allie Clifton and Austin Carr as well as NBA journalists Lee Jenkins, Chris Broussard and Dave McMenamin.

James also changed up his pregame routine for the Nuggets game by listening to his music through his individual headphones, Instead of playing it on his speaker system for the whole team in the locker room to hear. James said that he sometimes adopts different superstitions based on the situation at hand. The Cav's went on to win this game 124-91.

Channing Frye, Trey Lyles Thrown Out in 4th Quarter

Not even two weeks after Channing Frye was traded to the Cavaliers for Anderson Varejao he was ejected during Monday night's game against the Utah Jazz. With a little under four minutes to go in the fourth quarter Trey Lyles (guard for the Jazz) elbowed Frye in the groin while going up for a shot. Frye confronted Lyles going head to head in a yelling match. Utah's Joe Ingles tried to step in between the two, and Frye appeared to throw a punch that didn't connect with anyone as he was being pushed away.

After a long review session by the officials, Lyles was called for a flagrant foul 2...meaning he was ejected from the game. Frye was called for a technical foul but already had one in the game so it resulted in his ejection too. "I loved it." James said. "First of all his first T, I didn't think it was warranted. I told the ref that. I mean, this guy, he probably has a handful of T's in his whole career, just voiced his opinion. Just said it was a goaltend, didn't disrespect the ref at all. So that allowed him to get kicked out after that first T."

Kyrie Irving: All about Winning, James Scores 33 to Sore Past Pacers

Kyrie Irving is 23 years-old and is shaping into one of the best point guards in all of basketball. Monday night the Cavs took on the Indiana Pacers coming out victoriously ending a two-game skid; Irving put up 22 points, six assists, and shot 11-for-11 at the free throw line. ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said that Irving would prefer to be out of Cleveland, suiting up for another franchise. "Obviously there's going to be misunderstandings; it's part of being on a team," Irving said. For all you Cavs fans KYRIE IRVING is not going anywhere!

After taking a day off against the Washington Wizards (Loss 113-99), LeBron James came back fresh against the Pacers dominating with a game-high 33 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. James said he was not aware of the comments made about Irving by analyst Smith regarding Irving not wanting to be a Cavalier. "You go out and win," James stated. "You go 11-for-11 at the free throw line like Kyrie did and you lead the team to victory."

Floppy-Haired Brazilian Anderson Varejao traded for Channing Frye

As the NBA trade deadline came to an end the Cavaliers made a huge move trading fan favorite Anderson Varejao for Channing Frye. The deadly three point shooter is a good fit for the Cavaliers with a drive and dish offense. Tyronn Lue is allowing the offense to flow through LeBron...which can help the team with better scoring chances, more double teams in the paint, and open three pointers for Frye. Anderson Varejao has been paid $42 million dollars over the past five seasons and has only played over 31 games once in a season!!!! ONCE!!!! The Cavaliers made a really good decision by freeing up money on an injury-prone player.

Picture above: Anderson Varejao

Channing Frye was traded away from the struggling Orlando Magic, and not a minute to late. Frye is averaging a stifling 5.1 points per game but with his 6' 11'' frame at the power forward position the Cavaliers are looking to exploit the height of Frye. His tremendous stroke from three point land is the key factor in the acquisition for Anderson Varejao.

Welcome to Grant Young's Blog

This is a blog about the Cleveland Cavaliers, welcoming any readers that would like to follow me and my first real attempt at making a successful blog. You can expect to find the latest news on the Cavs here as well as some in depth information on injuries, stats, and trade updates regarding your Cleveland Cavaliers. I really hope you enjoy what is shared on here and feel free to leave any comments or concerns about my blog!

When I became a Cleveland Cavaliers fan was in 2003....when the Cavs took LeBron James as the first overall pick. It was probably the most exciting, nerve racking, experience I have ever been a part of. Considering I was only 11 when LeBron stepped onto an NBA court to play in his first game as a pro. Averaging 20.9 points a game his first season he captured the Rookie of the Year Award in 2004. One of the most memorable games was when the Cavs played the Denver Nuggets with Carmelo Anthony.
